ABOUT ME
Well obviously I'm awesome. I like to travel, read, write, draw, meet people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I joined couchsurfing not just to save money on accomodations (although obviously...that IS a perk) but because I found that after traveling so many places (and I've traveled quite a bit) cities begin to turn into a blur of buliding after building, church after church, museum after museum. Where did I see the mummy? Was that Manchester or Berlin? Was that all you can eat Chinese buffet in Nottingham or Budapest? Was that pubcrawl in Prague or Munich?
When you are just a tourist you see the tourist side of a town, which tends not to be THAT different from place to place. With couchsurfing you are staying either with a local or an expat who has established themselves in the area. This gives you an automatic in to the area. I'm not that experienced in Couchsurfing yet, but I hope to be.
And when I'm back home, I plan to host so I can travel vicariously through my guest. Meeting new people is the best part of traveling, and being able to have that experience even when I'm back home is almost as good as being on the road.
Interests
Meeting new people. Trying new things. Doing things that most people have never done. Going places most people have never been. Eating new foods. Living. Reading.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Taking a bus through the mountains in Yunnan Province at 100 mph on roads barely wide enough to fit a car with no side rail and a lot of turns over 1000miles above sea level. Then seeing at the bottom of the drop a bus with the same name as the one you are on that you can only assume crashed not that long ago.
Snorkeling in a crack between two plates of the Earth in Iceland.
