I've surfed a little and hosted a little, on and off Couchsurfing, and it has always been interesting and rewarding. When you have space to offer, it feels great to let someone use it and spare them the financial burden and isolation of a hotel room, or the possibility of ending up without a place to stay. And it's nice to know that wherever you find yourself in the world, someone else will likely be so kind as to return the favor.

I can identify hundreds of Oregon birds and I would love to help you add birds to your life list if I can! I have an extra pair of binoculars. No prior experience or knowledge required! And I always keep lists when I'm birding, so I'll gladly share my lists of any birds we see together.

My French is rusty, but I'm hoping to brush up on it. Lately I've working a lot on Russian and Japanese. I've also studied a little Italian, some Spanish, and a tiny bit of Portuguese. I'm very excited about languages and linguistics.

I care deeply about antiracist practice and am always eager to learn how to better recognize and challenge my own racism and that of other white people.

Other interests include queer theory, linguistics, women's and gender studies, and critical food/vegan studies.
