About Me

I'm currently in Japan.

Edit: I'm currently in England.

I hosted 100+ people in Amsterdam, Taipei, and Australia, but I deleted my account when CS changed.

Now, I'm back to post cat photos and sometimes meet people to hang out with. Sometimes I can host when I rent a flat or a barn : ) It has been an honor to host in squats and bunkers in different countries, and abandoned stone buildings in Tenerife.

I enjoy hiking when it's warm but this winter I'm mostly into seeing art galleries and just drinking coffee and staring at my kindle.

Update: I prefer tea.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Ah, I used to hitchhike and go on improvised trips a lot. I feel like the community has changed, but I'm still cool.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'll get back to this section haha.

Technically a lot of music from around the world, like Armenian duduk and okinawan songs ~ but also Alice in Chains.

I read things I don't necessarily agree with, i.e. Yukio Mishima/Gabriele D'Annunzio, and also nice writers like Bruno Schulz, Isaac Babel, and the Pacush Blues comic book series.

My favorite film is likely Symbol, the 2009 Japanese film.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A lot of hard and rare things, but my favorite experiences were Mardi Gras in NOLA and Songkran in Chiang Mai.

Meeting an Orang Utan was very special, but that their entire island is a big and pointless plantation is very sad.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to cook duck.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Rice and duck.
