About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Simply...to learn, to experience!
ABOUT ME
I am a earth scientist who loves nature. I have a rescued pit named Maxx who is the best dog in the world. I also have a cat named Alma who is the best cat in the world (how lucky did I get!?). My wife and I love to travel and experience this world. She speaks fluent Spanish, Italian, and English. I speak both English and bad English, and I am trying to learn Japanese and spanish. That's it for now.
PHILOSOPHY
I live to learn, experience, and help; people, animals, and the environment. I try my best not to judge others for any reason, we are all here trying to figure things out and we all have different paths toward that end!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've had the pleasure of hosting only twice. I look forward to hosting more in the future. If I have time I like to make my guests experience as enjoyable and educational as possible! I'm addicted to traveling and hope to surf with interesting people along the way. I prefer to host because I enjoy getting to know someone and helping them get to know my area and culture.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had four surfers and it has been a great experience. Can't wait for more! I have also surfed a few times and have met truly great people. I hope to have a profile in 10 years that reflects a life well spent traveling and hosting interesting people!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just one? I have seen red hot lava flowing just inches away from me. In fact, I actually stood on the lava flow for a half second to see how viscous it was. Although it looked like slow moving honey it was still hard as a rock and supported my weight! Part of my boot did not make it through the experience. The lava came from the Kilauea volcano in Hawaii.
Teach, Learn, Share
HMMMM well, karstic environments are landscapes where soluble rock is weathered (chemical weathering) away by slightly acidic rain water (carbonic acid). Over geologic time these dissolved lithologies (fancy word for bedrock) give rise to specific karst features that include but not limited to: caves, sinkholes, dolines, mogotes, and epikarst.
