About Me
Perfect has 7 letters in it. And so does Meeeeee!
I'm a Theatre design student studying in Seattle, WA, USA. I love all kinds of stories, adventures and learning experiences. My favorite things to do include photographing nature, researching history and other cultures, designing works of art, and making music.
Religious views: Non-denominational Christian
Political views: Libertarian (What I like to call "the best of both worlds")
Relationship status: Single and Happy :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Well first of all I don't have a lot of money, so if I can explore the world without paying for nice hotels, I'm absolutely going to do it.
Secondly, I really value a local perspective and a ground level view of the cities I visit.
My current trip to Scotland and Ireland is with a program from my school, but I'll be staying a few days after the program, so after all our scheduled activities and booked tours, I'd love to have some time to see what the day to day looks like from someone in the area.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once you've opened yourself up to the whole world it's hard to think of one thing that makes you stand out.
I'd have to say my favorite and most distinct experience was participating in MN 4-H State Arts In. This is a theatre workshop program where high school kids (ages 15-18) are invited from all over the state to put together a 30 minute jukebox musical. Our director chooses popular songs and arranges them around a fun original script.
The participants than have 8 days in their assigned majors to build the set, sew the costumes, learn the songs and dances, and learn the music to be performed live each show, as well as developing leadership and teamwork skills.
We then live in the 4-H dorm at the fair and perform the show 3-4 times a day for the 12 day run in August.
It's quite the ordeal and everyone comes away with all the songs stuck in their heads, 60+ new friendships, sore feet, sore throats and memories to last a lifetime.
I participated all 5 years that I could, and have gone back for the last 3 as dorm staff or an assistant director. My trip this year is the only reason I'm not there right now.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to learn textile arts and crafts. I already have some skill at sewing, knitting, crochet, spinning, and Japanese Temari. If you know, or are interested in learning traditional textile crafts I'd love to explore them with you.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have been employed on several occasions to help people clean out their closets and storage units. One family offered to fly me out to Texas to help organize their house and garage.
You may not have anything that major, but I'm completely willing to be put to work on odd jobs around the house.
I also grew up with a lot of younger siblings, the youngest is still only 7, and I've been babysitting for other families since I was 13. In other words, I'm good with kids, and I'm totally cool with high levels of chaos. I'd love to get to know your family and participate in the flow of life at whatever speed you live it.
