Overview
About Me
I grew up in Taiwan, joined army for one year after collage. I was a exchange student to China. I lived in Germany for 2 years for study. That's how I traveled so many countries. After working in Taiwan as a software programmer, I have lived in US for my PhD degree in neuroscience for 2 years.
I like art, music, out-door adventure, and I am interested in politics, economy, and sociology
I am easy going and I am a good listener. I like to meet people around the world. We can explore the city together although I have been to most places first-time tourists usually go.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like to travel, and when I can't travel, at least I can be a host. I have traveled a lot, but now not so much. If I have time and money, the countries I want to visit the most is Russia, Turkey, Iran, Brazil, and Portugal.
I would like to spend time with travelers I host. However, I am pretty busy, so don't be disappointed if I don't have time to hangout or be a local tour guy. My room is not big, you can sleep in my sleeping bag, or share a bed with me. It is pretty big. I have two flatmates, one studies music, the other is a student of film production. We shared a kitchen. There's not much tourist site around my home, but it is close to Downtown LA by either Metro or Uber.
If you just want a place to crash, and you don't mind exploring the city alone. This place can be perfect for you. Although I am open minded, I think for my safety I'd better host male only. Feel free to contact me in advance so I can reply on time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I traveled from Tübingen,Germany to Milan, Florence, and Rome, Italy during Christmas holidays in 2014.
I visited lots of galleries, museums, and historical sites in these three Italian cities.
It was amazing because I was astonished by the sculptures, paintings and architectures created by masters of Renaissance and Baroque period.
Those historical art work are indeed gems of European civilization, and I feel I don't live in vain after seeing them with bare eyes.
Aside from absorbing history and religion knowledge of Europe, I enjoyed my Christmas Eve hanging out with travelers of all nationalities at a CSer's house. I also enjoyed spending my New Year's Eve in Rome, and seeing Pope on the first day in 2015 in St. Peter's Square.
I crossed off all my goals on the travel list, and was highly satisfied because I didn't rush to accomplish that. Instead, I stayed in each of the three city for so long that I felt more like a local than a traveler. Italy is an amazing country. I was feasted extremely well with its glamorous vibrant city life and its rich culture. I will not forget the wonderful people I met, while I learned and cherished the times when adversities came to me.
This trip is amazing because I lived out my definition of spirit of a traveller:
I left my comfort zones and don't work or talk or think about work.
I didn't contact friends and check Facebook.
I built connections with local people, and view things from their angles.
I tried to be as independent, adventurous, and open-minded than ever.
I didn't shoot photos everywhere, and I watch with my own eyes.
I believed in myself.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a student in theoretical neuroscience currently. However, my study is closely conjugated to artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science. I love these things, and I would like to share my love of them to anyone who would like to know.
