About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find a mission. And then change my mind.

ABOUT ME

The desire to form connections drives my existence. Whether with another person, an idea, a cause, an expression of art, the earth (or the cosmos)...these forceful links cultivate sentiments and emotions that far extend the constraints of this box. I seek to understand the aspects of life that transcend the physical!

PHILOSOPHY

Free from desire, you realize the mystery. Caught in desire, you only see the manifestations.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've found that the best way to expand your perspective on humanity is to step out of the proverbial "comfort zone". By putting myself (and my couch) out there, I'm hoping to meet genuine people I otherwise would never know, from all walks of life and every corner of the globe.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a few surfers at our apartment in Fort Collins, CO and found the experiences to be overwhelmingly positive. Now, it's my turn to be the surfer! One of my best friends, Marsha, and I are leaving for Mexico City on October 23rd...moving down through Latin America...the duration of our trip remains unknown. We are now professional vagabonds.

Interests

Cultures, body modification, wordplay, Taoism, alternative medicine, living in the NOW, philosophy of the mind, morality.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a diehard music lover. I can appreciate all types (yes, even country--the old stuff, at least). I am particularly drawn to experimental music--electronic, alternative, punk, folk, and world...I really enjoy interesting sounds and provoking lyrics, I think I can find common ground with almost anyone when it comes to music! I love reading as well (I've got a bookcase full of good reads I'd be happy to share during your stay). I'm not big in to paramount production type movies, but I love independent films, foreign flicks, and documentaries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

4 day excruciating, breathtaking hike to Machu Picchu. Never felt more worthy to be somewhere once we arrived, covered in sweat and blisters.

Teach, Learn, Share

What kind of fear do you have? Is it fear of poverty, of loneliness, of rejection? Then use common sense. Don’t let the fear get infected. Often we burn 70 percent of our emotional energy on what we fear might happen (90 percent of which won’t happen). By devoting our energy to our other emotions, we will heal naturally!

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Thailand, Uruguay, Virgin Islands, British

Countries I’ve Lived In
