About Me

I'm in a shared apartment and not living in a place frequented by tourists anymore, so I'm not hosting. I'm just looking for other people in the area who are bored on the weekend lol.

CURRENT MISSION

see EVERYTHING!!!

ABOUT ME

I love my life. I am fulfilling my dreams of traveling the world. I want to explore every corner of the world and learn something new in every place I visit. I love learning and I love history. Most of my friends go someplace and spend nights drinking and partying, but that's not my idea of a vacation. I like to go somewhere and see the city, ALL of it. I can do maybe one night of partying but mostly, I want to get up early and go to museums or see something related to the history of the place I'm visiting. If I meet cool people when I'm there, that's even better, but I'm also really good at going it alone.

PHILOSOPHY

I love life... really. I want to take it all in, everything that I can. You have to live life to the fullest, and take in every person you meet and everything you see.

“Adventure is a path. Real adventure, self-determined, self-motivated, often risky, forces you to have firsthand encounters with the world. The world the way it is, not the way you imagine it. Your body will collide with the earth and you will bear witness. In this way you will be compelled to grapple with the limitless kindness and bottomless cruelty of humankind, and perhaps realize that you yourself are capable of both. This will change you. Nothing will ever again be black-and-white. €œ -Mark Jenkins

When one realizes that his life is worthless he either commits suicide or travels. -Edward Dahlberg

“Wandering re-establishes the original harmony which once existed between man and the universe" -Anatole France

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far, my couchsurfing in Asia has been very limited. I attended a NYE CS party in Hong Kong 2014/5. I attended Tandem meetings (not strictly through CS but they can be found on the Warsaw group) for language exchange. I try to go to other local meetings but they conflict with my schedule, however, I have proudly attended the Prague Winter Camp, which was AWESOME!!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing has been great. There are ups and downs, pros and cons, but for the most part, the people I've met have made it worth it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I've read more books than I can count, I LOVE to read. I had a job so boring once that I actually read all of War and Peace at work. I've read all the Harry Potter books, the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and everything Jane Austen ever wrote. I also grew up LOVING the Anne of Avonlea series and that gave me a huge desire to one day see Prince Edward Island.
Movies: Love Actually, Under the Tuscan Sun, Harry Potter
Music: too much to list, I can see the good in most music

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved to Warsaw from Charleston, South Carolina to teach English as a foreign language. I completely changed my entire life over night. It's the best thing I've ever done.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people solfege lol and how to cook Southern food, though probably only chili. I'm also apparently very good with helping with English because the way I speak is easily understood in comparison to other people.

I really want to learn more French. Since visiting France in Feb 2011 I'm IN LOVE with everything French and I hope to make Paris my home one day.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Cambodia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Jersey, Macao, Malaysia, New Zealand, North Korea, Poland, Scotland, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State
