About Me

CURRENT MISSION

making the most of the opportunities I have, caring about the people I love

ABOUT ME

Hate describing myself! It's always better to ask my friends. I study languages (English and Russian) at the University of Warsaw and enjoy it a lot! I love interpreting, hate translating. Sometimes I am overambitious, sometimes - too inclined to procrastinate. I am always eager to talk to people, share ideas, get inspiration from them. I'll never refuse to see a good film, listen to music when sipping a glass of wine or see an interesting exhibition. I am definitely not a party pooper, but sometimes I just feel like having a walk in a nice company.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to live according to this rule by R. Herrick:"For having lost but once your prime you may forever tarry".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I mainly surf, 'cause my little flat and a lack of space don't allow me to host people. I am always ready to meet you and have a cup of tea tho ;)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My last CS eperience was a short trip to Milan where I have had a marvellous time with my friends. We've been there 4 days and had a lot of fun mainly thanks to our great host :).

Interests

Music - what I appreciate the most is originality and so is if it comes to my music taste. I adore eclectic, organic, timeless sounds, a little bit of folk, with a pinch of indie and a great deal of alternative stuff. Like exploring new sounds, bands and singers I've never heard of.Film - preferably Russian films, but I am open to any good films. Really appreciate European cinematography and with a pinch of salt look at American blockbusters. Look up to young, talented directors like Xavier Dolan.Languages - as a translator to be I look at life from a linguistic point of view. I travel not only to see new places, but also to get to know new cultures and polish my language skills. Knowing that I'll never get any other than Polish I am obsessed with different accents, mainly these from the UK. My fav one is undoubtedly Scottish :)Theatre - it's a very recent passion that unexpectedly developed during the time I've spent working in the National Theatre in Warsaw. I like contemporary works of young playwrights, but also the older ones. What I dislike about theatre is conservative approach to staging plays. Fortunately, this tendency is becoming weaker and weaker.
