About Me

I'm an easy going Dutch guy who loves things like traveling, photography, festivals, art, writing and meeting awesome people. But who doesn't? I also like to take my time for most things... like waking up. I can't stand mornings. Nights are always way more fun!

PHILOSOPHY

Don't worry, things will always be fine. They probably already are.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host people and show them around when I have the chance. Well, I did. I just found out that my profile status was on 'Traveling' for over a year. Which explains why I didn't get any couch requests.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Met some awesome people through CouchSurfing. I hosted most of them and guided some, but also received an wonderful tour around Osaka and Kyoto in Japan by one of the members. Last year, she invited me to her wedding in Japan and that was just an amazing experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

I had a whole list, but seriously, just get that new Aphex Twin album called 'Syro'. It's beautiful.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The wedding of Couchsurfer Lisa Watanabe in Osaka was beyond amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

When I talk to people from different cultures, I always notice that we have much more in common than you would think. And the similarities far outweigh the differences. And when I went to Japan, I learned that we do everything wrong here in The Netherlands. Like standing on an escalator. Just stand on the right side and let people walk on the left side so they can catch their train in time.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Japan, Macao, Morocco, Serbia, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Netherlands, Taiwan
