ABOUT ME

I love travelling. Prefer offbeat places. Not a "touristy" tourist, who would be satisfied with sight-seeing, clicking photographs, buying mementos, posting (or boasting) on Facebook, etc.

I like to meet the locals, make friends with them. If possible, visit their houses. Understand their history, culture, traditions, quirks. Try to learn a bit of their language.

I love nature. Beaches, hills, national parks attract me more than man-made landscapes.

I am a vegetarian: no egg, no meat, no fish.

PHILOSOPHY

Be patient with others. Nobody is perfect. Most people are trustworthy.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed for a short say in Portland in May 2014. Had a wonderful experience. Met a few other couchsurfers. Positive experience.

In 2013, met a nice guy in Belgium whom I met through this site. We connected very well and he took me around to the major sight-seeing places in Brussels.

My wife and I will be glad to meet visitors from other countries over lunch, and even take them for short tours around my city. Can accept guests sometime when my parents are away from our home.
