I'm a graduate student working on my PhD in physics at Berkeley. I do research on computational neuroscience - trying to model how the brain processes information.

My parents emigrated from India to Canada, and then to the US. I grew up in Tallahassee, Florida and did my undergraduate studies in St. Louis. I've traveled quite a bit throughout the US but not as much internationally.

I love outdoor activities (e.g. hiking, running, biking, swimming), podcasts (flash recommendation: Slow Burn), learning new things (right now: piano and Punjabi), following the NBA, dogs, and eating.

I strive hard to empathize with others and am hoping to gain fresh perspectives on my first few solo travels.

I haven't gotten to travel much besides within the US and India (where I have family). I'm just starting to travel to new places solo. I'm hoping to meet people through this website who will be able to help me explore their cities and broaden my worldview.

Also, my apartment basically has an open door policy for friends, friends of friends, etc. to stay. I'm hoping to extend that open door policy to other visitors in the Bay Area through this website.
