I am an astronomy enthusiast. Currently, I am studying astrophysics at RWTH Aachen University. I work on the IceCube Neutrino Observatory at the south pole: www.icecube.wisc.edu/news/view/672

I love meeting new people, and getting to know different cultures. I like playing guitar with my friends. Sometimes, we have a jamming session.

I am an intensely hard-working and a relaxed person. A science lover and a guitarist. An interesting combination ;) I enjoy imitating various accents and making fun of other people :D

My apartment is near Aachen main train station which is a happening place. You will see Environmental activists protesting,music concerts, silent processions, police catching people not abiding the laws and other crazy stuff happening here !

If you are a student and looking for a couch during the weekend, then you have a higher chance in getting accepted because I understand your financial situation ;) I am also going through the same phase Haha :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like traveling to different places, getting to know the Sense of humor of different cultures and meeting new people. I also like to be around the local people so that I get to know more about the place and culture. I am interested in hosting people from various countries. I feel Couchsurfing is the ideal place to be where I can experience the same.

Music, Movies, and Books

I prefer all genres of music. Some of the main music bands and musicians I listen are Metallica, Linkin Park, Enrique, Taylor Swift, Eminem, Slipknot, Styles of Beyond, Evanescence, Coldplay, Yui etc.

When it comes to movies, I generally prefer action or comedy like Marvel movies, Transformer series, Johnny English etc. But, I also prefer watching other types of movies if the story line is great.

I generally read books on astronomy, personal development and psychology. Some of the recent books I have read are Power of Subconscious mind, Multiverses by Michio Kaku, Grand design by Stephen Hawking, Intelligence by Mensa, Becoming the Iceman by Wim Hof etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Delivering public lectures on astronomy at sky observation sessions with an audience of 200-250 people.

Overcoming near death situations while trekking in the Himalayas

Visiting the Large Hadron Collider, CERN, Geneva, Switzerland where the discovery of God particle occurred

Offering soup and bread to the homeless people in Aachen,Germany during the cold winter nights.

Withstanding -11°C for 5 hours during a telescopic observation without gloves

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach calligraphy, some guitar chords and cooking. I love to share my knowledge on astronomy, and take the surfer for a journey through Space! I would like to learn German and Parkour tricks.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share some of my experiences about trekking in the Himalayas. I would love to cook some Indian food for the host that people would remember for the rest of their lives :)
