I was born in Assam and grew up right by the Kaziranga NP, our house surrounded by a thick forest, overlooking a river and all kinds of creatures big and small out there and sometimes even in the house. I believe the experience of such a childhood shaped me as a person, even though I left after finishing school, to go to college and then work in cities (Kolkata then Delhi). But half of my heart always stayed here in and it took me several years to realise that as an adult. So I returned and now I live a quaint life in my little house with my dogs, books and garden, venturing out occasionally to explore nature. Other than that, I am a researcher and my work takes me on little adventures every now and then to some of the remotest places in India to study people and cultures.

I have very deep respect for nature and all living things. Visitors should know that I largely live on a plant based diet. If anyone wants to eat meat, they can bring their own and cook it.
