CURRENT MISSION
"To travel is to discover that everyone is wrong about other countries. ~Aldous Huxley"
ABOUT ME
I'm an easy going American that has traveled many places. My life consists of surrounding myself with good people, positive energy, intellects, and comedians.
I am the type of person that needs to stop to smell a flower, sit and listen to the crickets, walk and pick up garbage, and stare at art to figure out just exactly how it was created.
I love to work with my hands and to get dirty. My time is precious to me and I like to live every moment to the fullest. Every moment is a moment to explore, appreciate, and be thankful I have it, even if it just be a moment.
My husband is an Archaeologist currently studying for his M.A. He's brilliant and I'm not saying that because we're together, he truly is. He has a wonderful outlook on life, he's extremely balanced in his thinking, he takes the good with the bad, loyal, trustworthy, and open to change.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My husband and I travel together, so we come in a pair. We have recently married in 2011. We met while I worked in China as an English teacher in 2005 and he as a traveler.
We have been to the couch surfing meeting in Tel Aviv, had a coffee with a traveler, and couch surfed for the first time in Brno. We have since hosted a few people but would like to host more.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We had a wonderful first time couch surfing experience. We enjoy having guests come and visit us from all parts of the world. Of course it can be a bit awkward to have a stranger in your home, but we try and to make it as easy and as smooth for both parties. Also enrolled to become verified members.
Interessen
Reading, drawing, wakeboarding (YEAH), swimming, scuba diving, hikes, camping (Gotta love it), but most of all: TRAVELING!!!
Bugs and insects are extremely interesting to me. I used to collect (dead ones of course) bugs in China when I lived there. It's amazing the size and different species they had there. I very much miss being a teacher in China, it was definitely a highlight of my life.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
I feel a bit out of place describing just one amazing thing I've done in my life. The world is my oyster, I've been lucky enough to have had so much time to play within it.
I would say one of the most amazing things I've done is being a teacher in China. I went for a 10month contract and stayed 2 years.
Lehren, lernen, teilen
We enjoy learning from people willing to give us both sides of a story. Ones who have been through certain experiences but come out understanding why it happened, and can put themselves in the other person's shoes. We enjoy creative people, people that can build with their hands, teach with justification, and that are always open to learn. It's important to understand that when traveling you're not always going to end up with what you're used to, and that's important in having a truly gratifying experience.
