I live in Istanbul at present. (EDIT.. I've been in England having come to visit family for Christmas - I got locked in!) I have been here off and on for 10 years. Before that I was a travelling nomadic gypsy hippy baba type. I have lots of experiences travelling. I hosted a few people in India and now I have a nice place in Kadikoy, the best part of Istanbul, so I'm opening up again.
I studied Vaisnavism for years, and consider myself a Baul (look it up).
I write books and songs and would like to see a community of communities around the world to alleviate ourselves from the mess of industrialism and captalism.... soon. That is my plan and pipe dream.
I love people... love to host. I'm clean and expect respect and cleanliness. I do everything in moderation.

Couchsurfing gives a chance to those smart people who realize places are more about people.
Its not just a way to save money but more of a chance to taste the culture. I'm not Turkish but I've been here a while and know the place.
