About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Exploring life and growing personally with every new encounter.

ABOUT ME

I'm currently based in Lisbon for a stint working as a trainee in drug policy. The seemingly endless sunny days and relaxed vibe in the city are amazing. Previously, I studied sociology and was lucky to enjoy life as a student in such a vibrant and dynamic city as Berlin, where I've lived for most of the last 10 years. During my studies I also spent some time in San Diego (again, amazing climate) and Cambridge (fortunately, not as wet as many expect).

Moving to Berlin is probably the best thing that could have happened to me. There's so much to try and learn together with people from all walks of life. This kind of social environment along with a relaxed and open vibe is what to me characterizes the current appeal of both Berlin and Lisbon. Both are lively and dynamic places where you can be yourself and discover new facets of live. I've developed a strong connection with life and people in Berlin and am very excited to explore new places with people from around the world. Some things that I've enjoyed and deepened in Berlin are a passion for classical and electronic music. I'm still getting to know what's in store in this regard in Lisbon.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Ready to learn how to surf your wave!
I'll bring a piece of Berlin along with me wherever my path takes me and be open to engaging in life in Berlin with you.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm pretty new to Couchsurfing and have to admit that even my mom has been much more active on here and earlier than me! Through her I've frequently been exposed to similar networks of globetrotters from an early age, yet from before the internet era.

Interests

I'm always looking to meet people that are inspiring in various and new ways. In my studies I developed a passion for gender theory and queer-feminist thought and they have reshaped me and my life by opening my eyes to manifold ways of living beyond boundaries.

I'm passionate about music: Berlin introduced me to opera and classical music after I'd been delving into electronic music for many years. There's no way around music in Berlin, no matter what genre you prefer.
If you're into opera or classical music Berlin has the best on offer for anyone under 30 (my last year now!). I've been going to lots of performances for almost 7 years.

I do look some sports and used to play Tennis for many years, but no longer play regularly. I wish I'd play more beach volleyball, especially as I've been living near beaches recently.

Music, Movies, and Books

classical and electronic music
Paul Beatriz Preciado's "Testo Junkie" and "Countersexual Manifesto"
As I have mainly been reading for my studies for years, I'll have to say Michel Foucault...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

With my family I traveled from Florida to Miami by car. I hiked around Uluru in the Australian outback naked.
I've explored almost every facet of Berlin's club culture to the extremes and have come out of it a better person.

Teach, Learn, Share

Discover some special and unique sides of mine and I'll be glad to share thoughts about life and my experiences. I'll also explore your special sides to learn new ways from you. Basically, I'm open to explore different ways of thinking and can share my way of thinking with you. One thing my boyfriend and I have been looking to learn more about is polyamory.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I mostly appreciate personal and intimate moments with others. Love to meet new people and have conversations about anything that moves them and/or myself. I've lived in Berlin, California and Cambridge for studies recently and am happy to share my experiences as a sociologist in different parts of the world. I have a contagious passion for classical and electronic music and love to explore both with others.
