About Me

CEO and Founder of a travel technology startup, sooo... traveling the world, talking to fellow travelers, digital nomads, and backpackers, and getting a better idea of how my company can help more people get out there. Got my degree in Cognitive Science from UC Santa Cruz (Banana Slugs all the way!), and I'm a published academic.

Decided to try my hand at startups before probably (inevitably) pursuing that ever elusive PhD. Recently returned from living on the island of Madeira for a few months so absolutely happy to talk about Portugal, island life, or how hard startups are!

Basically, just a guy with big dreams, an open mind, a kind heart, and a desire to explore the world and making great new friends! Let's connect ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I said above, I'm on here to get a better sense of what backpackers, couchsurfers, and digital nomads need to get from place to place. Specifically, Flyright, my company, provides things like visa info, health recommendations, currency calculators and more via offline-ready mobile applications. You can check us out at https://flyright.co. It's still very early days for us, but we're growing!

Also, let's be honest, I'm on here to make new friends in cities around the world. I travel... A LOT... and it's always nice to have a group of people to connect with when I return.

Interests

What's there to say, except I write poetry, sketch, and meditate when I'm not working on my startup. Not the best work-life balance, but c'est la vie ces jours, non? Just as happy to talk about daily life or artificial intelligence and human-computer interaction (what my degree focused on) or to sit quietly and admire the sights and sounds of some everyday natural wonders.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I walked 736 miles from San Diego to Sacramento along the Pacific Coast Highway to see if I could keep a promise.
