About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Discovering Indonesia~!
ABOUT ME
I'm a fellow who rarely gets angry and usually finds something to be happy about. I've just recently moved to Indonesia and am really excited about nature tourism. I'm all about anything outdoors, like jungle trekking, diving, surfing, etc.
I'm also vegan, so I would be happy to share what I can about that.
PHILOSOPHY
If we just loved each other, it would be enough.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
By opening my couch to the world! By meeting new friends at home and abroad.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had a couple surfers myself, and been surfing a couple times. I'm not super experienced, but I've been loving it so far and am definitely looking forward to more in the future.
Interests
I love hiking, especially long through-hikes. Social activities are very important to me, as are things that may be labelled mundane like cooking and reading.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like any good movie. That might be an absurd thing to say, but that's how I feel. Any genre, length or style is okay, as long as it's good. Recently, I've enjoyed the movies 'Dheepan,' 'The Martian,' and 'Planet Earth.'
I'm on a learning quest, to get as much out of Indonesian music as possible! I want to try all the genres, traditional and modern. I recently travelled to North Sumatera and very much enjoyed the Batak traditional music. I also always enjoy hearing Sundanese music at local traditional festivals. And Dangut and Indie are pretty nice too sometimes ;)
I mostly read fiction, like the movies, anything good, and like the music, trying to read Indonesian authors. I enjoyed reading Ayu Utami and Budi Darma. I have also read a lot of Murakami recently, and enjoyed Cloud Atlas and Oryx and Crake very much.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiking through the desert. It was so different and beautiful. A place I'd been led to imagine was majorly destitute and unlivable was brimming with life and possibilities.
Walking down a street in Rome and having the Colosseum begin to appear before me over the buildings and trees. It's hard to know exactly why, though easy to attempt to explain it as a realization of many years of learning, thought, and idolizing; but whatever the case I found it very powerful.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love cooking in general. I try to learn a bit from each place I go to. I would love for someone to help me learn about Indonesian cooking, and maybe I could share what I know as well.
I play Ultimate frisbee and love it! I would very much enjoy teaching someone how to play, how to play better, or learning for myself how I can improve.
I try to walk a couple times a week. I live in a kampung-esque neighborhood, and walking around, looking at animals and briefly meeting people is always interesting. A good time for photography as well.
I always love to learn. Don't be shy about your talents and interests, I want to discover them.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I hope I can share a love of nature. I love the dramatic wide views, as well as the small details.
Like I said before, I would love to share what I know about cooking, Ultimate, my neighborhood, books, movies, music, or otherwise~
