Overview
About Me
"May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds."EA. The outdoors and mountains are my passion. I love to explore them any way I can, be it by foot, bike, skis, rope or from above. Another passion of mine is talking to people from all walks of life. It is hard to quantify what you can receive from just communicating with another human, from another place. I am easy going, the little things don't really bother me. If I miss a train or bus, it's ok, there will always be another at some point. I am fairly new to couchsurfing, having only hosted a few people and stayed with a few. Unfortunately I never live in one place long enough to ever consistently host people. I look forward to meeting you in the future, over a cup of coffee, pint of beer, on top of a mountain, on a river, or on a couch somewhere. Cheers.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
75% of my travel experiences come from meeting fellow travelers and local residents, and there is not better way to do this then couch surfing. It is a great way to not mearly travel to a place, but actually interact with that place and its people.

Music, Movies, and Books
Neil young, Tom morello, various bluegrass, folk, indie and alt. rock. Some house and electronic music and a very few hip hop artists. Movies: Cohen brothers films, Star Wars, back to the future trilogy, Tarantino films. Book: technical manuals that teach you to do something, topo maps, Beat Generation authors.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I work as a Wildland firefighter during the summer, and travel all over the United States from May to Oct. Wherever there is a fire, we go. So far, I have been on fires in 10 states. I once rode a bike 255km(130miles) over the mountains in a day, on a women's bike that didn't fit me, because my roommate bet me I couldn't do it. I drove a VW golf 1(Rabbit) with almost 1 million kilometers on it for 2 years all over the western United States. Often, tape, wire, rope and zip ties were all that was keeping it on the road.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you about the mountains of the western USA, about diesel volkswagens, about airplanes and flying, about sustainable forestry practices. I can learn anything you would like to share with me. I can learn how to reduce my footprint, and open my mind. I can share stories about wildland firefighting, skiing, backpacking, adventuring, flying, life.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good conversation, and a reliable partner for outdoor adventures/pursuits.
