Overview
About Me
Sometimes, I think I'm just here for the food.
I eat it, cook it, dream about it and, most importantly, share it. I appreciate the transformative power that food has, transporting us to different places and cultures, and changing and developing relationships through communal meals.
My appetite for books is similarly voracious. I read at least 50 books per year on a variety of topics. I'm happy to share recommendations and love a good book discussion.
I am an aspiring optimist and unapologetic idealist. I care deeply about social justice issues, and I've devoted my life to nonprofit work because of that passion.
Now that I live in an entirely different region of the country than where I grew up (the American South), I'm excited to explore all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My favorite aspect of traveling is reveling in the shared humanity of the people I meet. That's why I love Couchsurfing so much -- no matter where I go, I'm sure to meet people who are equally interested in learning about other ways of life. It's inspiring and invigorating.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I wished for a twin brother and sister, and then I got them. Sure, I wasn't responsible for their production, but they've made me who I am.
