About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm on a Mission to save the World

ABOUT ME

I have a wife Hetty, defacto the state calls it but we continue to wake up next to each other and intend to tomorrow. I have a Daughter who just turned 21 and lives downstairs and studies at the local university. We have a dog called Pepsi and I walk her daily. I know a lot about everything but very little about one thing. I have just enough childhood naivety left to believe I can save the world.

PHILOSOPHY

The secular version of "Do unto others as you would have done unto yourself"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Thought we might offer a space and see if some interesting people turned up.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When i was young I used to wake up hungover in all sorts of places. Dives in Kings Cross, Sydney. Dirt floors in a Karen Village in Burma. Little wooden huts on the beach in Ko Samui, Thailand. Wooden Decks out west of Kuala Terengganu in Malaysia. Sometimes I don't know how I survived all the drinking. Now I'm older I don't do that anymore. I enjoy waking up in a proper bed with my head not pounding.

Music, Movies, and Books

Inside Job (movie), Debunking Economics (Steve Keen)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Witnessed the birth of my Daughter. Participating in the conception was pretty cool too.

I've jumped out of aeroplanes, and off bridges, out of trees and off cliffs. I've flown in gliders, hang-gliders and Microlights. I've gone way too fast on motorbikes and cars. I've got dragged behind fast boats and competed in fast yachts. I've failed spectacularly at business and come out the other side. I've had far too many lovers and am very glad I'm down to one. I've been lucky not to die many times but am amazingly enough still alive.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know all sorts of business and computer stuff. I typically have students from local Universities working on projects or as interns for me during the year. I'm interested in economics and believe that solution to our worldly woes lies in a change to micro economics whilst the cause of our woes lies in macro economics.

Countries I’ve Visited
