Trying to prepare myself for my first Christmas in Summer (and without snow!)

ABOUT ME

I come from Middle America, which is a mind numbingly boring place to grow up in my opinion. The people are nice, but there is no desire to see the rest of the world and experience new things so I decided to leave it behind. I've since moved halfway across the globe to New Zealand, love my new home, and couldn't be more excited to see what this corner of the globe has to offer.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is probably best exemplified by the following quote: "Treat everything that happens in your life as if it's the best possible thing that could have happened". Life is too short to complain about what happens along the way. We get dealt a crappy hand from time to time, but we should make the best of it and move on.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Just joined CS, but it seems like an interesting community and would love to become more involved hosting/being hosted and meeting other like-minded people

Attended a handful of CS meetings, but have never hosted/been hosted

My main interests are traveling (obviously), playing sports, watching sports, poker, investing, snowboarding, and willing to try anything new that seems fun

Pretty tough for me to pin down my favorites in any of these categories. I am open to pretty much any genre of music or movie, but I suppose right now my absolute favorite music is electro house (Skrillex!).
