About Me

ABOUT ME

I always feel strange when I have to describe myself for people on the internet. I'm usually always too vauge and how can you present a perfectly rounded, real character in such a small space?

Anyway, lets see...

I love to write, usually fiction, and I love to read good ficton and I love good music. If I could I'd learn to salsa but I haven't found anyone to go to classes with me. I love tempura and good sushi and good mexican food.

I can talk about lots of things. My hair is dark and my eyes are brown and I am kind of tan but not extremely so. I have Loki's rune tattooed on my left wrist and he is a good friend of mine. My Spirit Guide (yes, I am American Indian) is the Orca and I love all whales fiercely.

That's really all I have for now, at least for this section. I'll probably change it soon.

PHILOSOPHY

Be kind. Be good. Give everything you have and then some. Believe in good things, because that's the way to make them happen. Believe in love, in angels and in small gods who whisper in your ear at night.

Write the world as you see it. Because you're the only one who sees it that way. Travel to see the world and then write what you see.

But always be kind. Even to strangers. Especially to strangers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can't host right now...I dont have my own place and soon I will be moving into a dorm. But. I would be happy to meet anyone visiting DC for coffee or lunch or to just hang out.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I went a DC Couchsurfers party in June and it was so much fun! Everyone is so nice and ready to talk about everything. Its nice to meet lots of open people who don't come to you with any preconcieved notions.

I am looking forward to surfing or hosting (meeting for coffee or lunch) in the future!

Interests

I love music. Anything that sounds good, but in particular: rock, punk, metal. Something with heavy guitar and throbbing bass, something with a good snare sound and not too much high hat. Music can save a life, can sustain you on all those empty long hours of doing nothing, of waiting for the train for the bus for the ride for the big break. My favorite band of all time is RHCP with The Beatles a close second.

Lately I've also become enamored with angels.

Good fiction is the backbone of my exsitance. Like music, a good piece of fiction can give you a reason to keep going in life, can feed your soul in a way all those "Get Rick Quick" and political books can't. Travelouges, if done well, can do the same. I love reading accounts of real people travelling to somewhere I've never been. Or been.

If anyone wants book reccomendations, or has any, message me! Current favorite authors: Neil Gaiman, Ken Kesey, Terry Pratchett, Tom Robbins, Barbara Kingsolver, and Sherman Alexie.

I also dabble in videogames. And comics.

Before I forget: I play cello and baritone uke, too!

Current Favorite Music: RHCP, Gogol Bordello, The Beatles, Linkin Park, David Gray, Incubus, Jack Johnson, Jeff Buckley, The Rolling Stones, Barenaked Ladies, They Might Be Giants, Danny Elfman, and pretty much anything that sounds good.

Books I Am Enamoured With: The Raw Shark Texts, Sometimes A Great Notion, Going Postal, American Gods, The Little Prince, Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates, Thud!, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven, Twice Dead Things, and The Dragon and the Unicorn, to name a few.

Favorite Videogames: FF7, Jak 1-3, Ape Escape, Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time, and possibly FF10 but I'm not sure yet.

Any suggestions for...well, for anything would be awesome!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have looked into the darkened windows of the Mesa Verde Cliff Dwellings and felt my ancestors calling to me from the shadows.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can't think of anything right now. Things that are second nature to me are sometimes completely out of left field for some people.

Will update it soon.
