About Me

CURRENT MISSION

i seek experience, knowledge, truth, love, life at it's finest. i thrive on spontaneity, gratitude, like-minds, and challenge. i am constantly striving to learn, grow, understand, and help myself, others, and the environment around me.

ABOUT ME

howdy! my name is sydney. i am a chef by trade, and i am currently making a big move from my home in Fresno, california, to beautiful Eugene, Oregon. i am easy to get along with, enjoy a challenging and intellectual conversation, and am interested in such things as sustainable evolution, [urban]/[biodynamic] farming and permaculture (i do not have much experience in such fields, but am aspiring and eager to learn!), art and music, upcycling and other various arts and crafts, potlucks, wildcrafting/foraging/wild foods, nature. . .[if you would like to know more, just ask me!]

PHILOSOPHY

my philosophy covers, i do believe, a broad spectrum and is constantly evolving as do all things in life and in the passage of time...but i would love to speak with you about some of my philosophies and exchange viewpoints and experiences sometime...

my preferred music selection is much too broad to provide a concise yet thorough description, but i'm open to all kinds! As far as movies and books go...i LOVE a good story and love even more that which i can learn useful and interesting information from...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

a tarantula sitting on an island in the middle of one of the most beautiful waterfalls i have seen in brazil; the mysterious creeping fog of the redwoods in northern california; the chilly jade-scattered beaches of big sur; the glorious gourmet and medicinal mushrooms growing happily amidst the beautiful rainforests of central coastal oregon; a half-gold half-black sky illuminated by the most glorious lightning storm from the top of a grocery-store roof in my hometown in central california; the thin, steep, windy cobblestone streets of sicily; the smoky, thin air of the active volcano Mt. Etna in sicily; the august perseids meteor shower in a patch of the darkest sky in america [in the deserts of southeastern oregon, on a mining and desert exploration trip][also, on the same trip, 1,000+ year old petroglyphs/ancient rock drawings]...and the list goes on...
