I am Priyan, I currently living in Waterloo, Canada. I lived in the US for around 6 years, where I graduated from Rutgers University, New Jersey and worked in Atlanta. I have travelled to 40/50 states in the US. I am from India and have traveled all over the country. My favorite trips was Summer 2015, I am did a month long trip backpacking several cities from the East Coast to West Coast. Trip to United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Thailand in 2019.

I am a person who diverse interests and passionate about Tennis, Soccer, Running, Bachata/West Coast Swing dancing, Public Speaking, collecting coins, love animals, and of-course Traveling.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I lam passionate about traveling. I am inspired by travelers who I meet on the way and the ones who come to my city through Couchsurfing.

Couchsurfing is a great opportunity to meet some awesome people all over the world! Its a great movement for connecting travelers.

Everyone I have met is Special and Unique. I love to interact with people and learn a lot about them, their culture and their way of life. They all have an unique story to share. I have learned a lot from them, that makes me plan my future trips.

Interests

I am huge Soccer fan and follow my team Arsenal. I love Tennis equally and fond of the sport.

Of late, I am interested in Latin dancing and West Coast Swing dancing. I also enjoy volunteering for sports events including running events locally, Tennis professional events.

I love Electronic Music and this year I am attending Escapade, Ile Soniq.

I am big into self improvement. My favorite ones are from Malcolm Gladwell, Brian Tracy, Robin Sharma, Jack Canfield

My favorite artists are Red Hot Chilli peppers, Maroon5, Kasabian, Bryan Adams, Linkin Park

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I trekked with my Brother and Cousin in Kodaikanal, popular hill station in South India . We took random trail routes. It was exciting and we had no GPS. It was an adrenaline pump for 6 hours. We stood on the edge of rocks where one slip would made us reach god.

I was part of a Trip called Jagriti Yatra where we had to Live on the train. An annual train trip around India for young people interested in entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship to bring innovative, proactive change to India. This trip is the longest train trip in the world- 8000 km covered in 15 days, while living on the train with 450 fellow entrepreneurs!

Another Awesome thing was we were in Velankani, the church town on the Bay of Bengal in Tamil Nadu, India on a Tsunami warning day. It was a period of heavy storm where many people died in the surrounding areas. Still we walked across the shore, what was surprising was many devotees who came to visit the church were all on the sea!! Power of Nature and God!!

Teach, Learn, Share

Learning is one thing I always believe in and do day in/day out. Thats why I read numerous articles online and books to update myself.

Couchsurfing is awesome because we learn about that city from a local. What more than learning from a local than reading a book or online reviews.
