Musica, film e libri

Music - I prefer listening to good music, language/genre no bar. Listening to tracks of varied genres in different tongues has only helped me learn them. (But then, categorizing into genres is something I am not a big fan of. Although, I mostly am into classical music. Indian Classical, specifically.)

Randomness has taken me to places and found people for me that are dearest to me. And it has taken me to music. O, and beaches.

Bangalore, 2010
One such instance that stands out is the Sahasraveena (1000 lute) concert I'd been to once, that has over a 1008 veenas, a few mridangams and a flute. The experience left me spellbound and with memories of tranquility that I'd cherish for years to come.

Andaman, 2017
My short stay of a week on multiple islands in the region filled the beach-lover in me with even more awe and excitement for the sea. Underwater corals, aquatic plant life and the fine, white sands enchanted me to no end. Finding myself alone with solely my close friend accompanying me has been one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life ever.

Montreal, 2018
It is not lightly that I use the word brilliant when I attempt to describe the abilities of the circus performers at the Phoenix (Complementary) Circus during the summer festival in Montreal. Attending the performance is well worth your time and worth investing your emotions in. A roller-coaster of gripping music and unbelievably timed choreography that goes beyond simply dancing on the podium. The entire set of streets near BERI-UQAM were taken over by throngs dying to catch a glimpse of their unique stunts and presentation techniques. The performers were at their best and the crowds were hypnotized for four long hours, following them as if the Pied Piper were playing for them.

Quebec City, 2018
Europe without the tax for public toilet use. (No, seriously.) A hike in the Jean Cartier Park was well worth the effort, as being that close to nature is tremendously calming. A town filled with old relics and surrounded by an interconnected series of lakes and streams that truly make it a must-see.

Kingston, 2018
It's quite the quaint town that has the apt old-timey capital feeling to it. It's so calm and quiet and offers limited but good options for food and shopping to visitors and dwellers alike. I happened to accompany my friend on their convocation ceremony and absolutely loved the Queen's University buildings that boast of their century-old heritage.
