I am an Executive Assistant and a traveling English teacher. Currently, I'm the Property Manager for the owner of several Airbnb rentals on the Big Island of Hawaii and I also volunteer and consult with hotels and hostels in Latin America.

For the past five years, I have been traveling the world, volunteering via WWOOF, Workaway, HelpX, working as a professional house sitter. I have had some amazing experiences and met incredible, wonderful people, and learned so many fascinating things!

Seeing the country, one couch at a time. Meeting cool new people. Writing a book about them all.

I am many things, but I'll give you my "Top 10 List" that hits the high points. I am:

Author and Poet (A few things have actually been published! I am currently writing a book---- I know, I know, aren't all writers?)

Artist (I paint wine glasses and enjoy painting landscapes and abstracts on paper or canvas.)
Musician (I know how to play the flute, piccolo, and oboe but I no longer inflict humanity with the application of this knowledge. I now prefer to listen to others on NPR.)

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I think this is an amazing way to connect with others, see new places through the eyes of a local, and to hopefully make new friends while traveling. I've gotten rid of all my possessions and have been volunteering across the US with HelpX and Workaway. I'm writing a book about my experiences. It's sort of an "Into the Wild" meets "Eat Pray Love".

When I travel, I love experiencing a new place through the eyes of a local, someone who loves their city or town and who enjoys sharing their favorite spots. I also enjoy meeting local people and hanging out, drinking a beer, or sharing travel stories.

I'm clean and tidy, respectful, and easy to get along with.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Movies: I love foreign films, classics, dramas, action and thrillers, mysteries, suspense, and sci-fi. I'm a HUGE Star Trek TOS fan. William Shatner and Leonard Nemoy are gods. Well, not really, but damn I love them.
Some of my favorite films are: Das Boot, Raise the Red Lantern, A Very Long Engagement, The Painted Veil, Out of Africa, Beyond Borders, Hotel Rwanda, Now, Voyager, and The Inn of the Sixth Happiness.

Music
I love all types of music. The music I listen to depends a lot on my mood. I love classical, jazz, world folk music, new age, classic rock, classic country, bluegrass, blues, and selected rap/hip-hop. I don't enjoy scream-y electric rock. Artists I enjoy are: Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, chanting monks, middle eastern belly dance, Irish pub songs, Scottish sea songs, Native American flute, nature sounds - esp rain, the sounds of a Virginia summer night. Recently turned on to the Dirty Heads. Can't love them enough.

Books
All of them. I read two or three books at a time. I refuse to get with the times and buy an e-book reader. I demand real paper books! :D

I lived and worked on the dry side of Maui for nine months in a tent, off-the-grid, no electricity, no running water, no neighbors. I freakin' LOVED IT. I was shocked how much!

Of course, given birth goes without saying.

One of the only non-lawyers in Virginia to ever successfully go to court on the first attempt and win a bankruptcy case for someone.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I love food and I'm a great cook. I enjoy exchanging local recipes or cooking for hosts. I also enjoy language exchange. I'm versatile - I am content to chill on my own if you have to work, and I am also happy to go out to a pub or meet your friends. Not really a party person but will leave the house if that's your rule. I'm chill, like to cook, "talk story" as we say in Hawai'i, eat together, maybe go see an oddity of your city or a do a tour together. Also not super athletic. Show me a used book store or a second hand clothing shop! Quiet, respectful, clean/tidy.
