I prefer old movies, or at least movies that don't depend on some cheesy cliche plot and special effects. I love Beethoven and jazz, folk-punk and cabaret, but 90's rock does it for me, too, among others, from the Talking Heads to Stevie Wonder.
There are far too many good books to ever list here, but a few favorite authors are Chuck Palahniuk, Aldous Huxley, Kurt Vonnegut, Jack Kerouac and the beats, Dr. Seuss, Daniel Quinn, and anyone that challenges our understanding of "reality." I tend to read a lot of non-fiction on whatever subject I find captivating and necessary for my development.
