About Me

CURRENT MISSION

---
NOTICE: We are currently having a baby and therefore do not accept guests.
---

Raising a family, finding our place in the world. Travel the eco-communities of the world to meet inspiration, understanding and excitement.

ABOUT ME

Easygoing 35ish guy with a bit of world experience and interest in humans. I believe nature is sentient and that Life is Art.

In these days I'm living easy in Danish sub-urbia amidst rampant postmodernism with my family: check out lovely Betti's profile here: http://www.couchsurfing.org/people/bettinaiben/

We are guitar-playing, fire-building, tent-roving livers of life, we like music, art and love in all its manifestations. We have traveled extensively with tent, pots and instruments on the roads of the Américas and are into communities, interesting life choices and closeness to all things nurturing us as creative primates.

My CS philosophy is pretty simple. When visiting me, you will become temporarily a part of my extended family. Let's say a long lost cousin. That means that I will have to trust you, which means: 0 references, 0 friends, crap profile or no photo = no chance. Lets repeat that for the dimwitted: if you have NO REFERENCE your message to me better be juggling chain-saws on fire, because normally there is NO CHANCE.

On the flip side: good profile, good references = let's cook, drink and be happy that we're alive :)

Please: No robots.

PHILOSOPHY

By talking to the plants of the Peruvian jungle, we reached this equation:

"art + love + nature = happiness"

I think this is as close to my philosophy as it gets.

I like to find new experiences that make me happy and repeat them.

Life is Art - Art is Life, living artfully is how it must be.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment, we can offer pretty much everything - we have good guest quarters, unlimited time supply and things to see & do while having a damn good chat.

I used to be a big city kid and know a great deal about Copenhagen, but my focus have shifted to the joys of rural life. However, I'm still into people kitchens, small alternative places, Christiania, gardens and parks and stuff like that.

I'm a vegetarian and enjoy to cook, although I claim no great culinary expertise. If you know how to cook, let's cook it together or exchange samples of strange new tastes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A great deal of great encounters, no bad experiences except for two shady characters in Caracas and Marrakesh. Shame on you. All the other lovely, interesting, hospitable and excellent people: you rock.

Interests

Books, movies, ideas, people, stupid, technology, food, world. Life strategies & experiences. Life changing ideas & actions. Recently: living, feeling being alive. Also: living close to the earth, knowing seasons and produce, "facing only the essential facts of life": Thoreau. Getting inspired.

Since I'm an anthropologist, humans and the interaction between us is obviously something that interests me a great deal.

I am in the process of learn to know earth, produce, eco building and living, sustainability in all its green glory.

Music, Movies, and Books

Right now I travel with one book at the time, but can´t seem to let Walden go.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing experiences in my life was quitting the fear and leave my old life for a life on the road, having a kid - those things are the best.

Teach, Learn, Share

I share whatever I can do, for me that's the way the world turns. I can show you how to make an assortment of random handcrafts, 99 variants of hummus or chilli sauces and how to play the charango.
