ABOUT ME

I'm attracted to creative communities, things a bit strange or weird. Enjoy music and dancing. Dance is beautiful. I find dance a meditation, a communication, a raw real expression of humanity.

I am drawn to low-tech, earthy magic. Certain photographic processes, cooking, use of plant materials in collage and sculpture.

I enjoy communities that aim to share and assist each other. Gift and cooperate. Find apartment life, and urban sprawl to create tunnel vision. I am excited to hopefully find an opening, sharing, community within CS that removes the blinders and shares experience with others.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to be as open as possible to absorbing other cultures. I feel my current culture exposure is hungry, thus the desire to travel.

With every relocation my perspective shifts massively towards people, myself, art, the world. I hope to keep that continually shifting and changing to augment my understanding.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have hosted travelers a bit. Haven't had the time or resources to begin a surfing excursion of my own. But soon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have hosted a couple people though CS. so far, always a positive experience. Once just a meetup, led to me hosting the surfer, and another time I hosted a surfer from France. Each time was a blast!

Interessen

Light. I am a photographer, so often my thoughts are on Light, both as a physical manifestation and a symbol. I enjoy exploring the wilderness and photographing, making art from found natural objects, collage and montage.

Sacred geometry opens the orchestrated chaos of the world. I try to observe patterns and learn from the natural world. My art reflects geometric harmonies, and often uses geometric grid work as compositional elements.

When possible, my time is spent exploring and drawing with light. Some of my photography is long exposure landscape work in which I add light to a given night scene to enhance the magic of the image, altering perception through time and selective attention.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Returning to a camp after a day of hiking to see friends had found our camp, started a fire, roasted food, and had begun a drum circle. Reunion and Merriment ensued.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

Photography knowledge, technical and aesthetic. Photoshop and Illustrator use. Digital Printing techniques. Traditional and Alternative photographic processes, for example, liquid emulsion, and gum bichromate processes are the ones that I am most familiar with.

Minor carpentry skills. Can build tables, bookshelves, benches, could figure out other things.

Minor plumbing. Have setup an irrigation system for a residential property.
