About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Visit every country and geographic region on the planet.

ABOUT ME

Older but feisty. Conservative but tolerant. And a decent dancer.

PHILOSOPHY

Live & let live. Seek truth. Observe beauty. Defend the helpless. Accept every person but not every action.

In my daily life it's work & dance [west coast, ballroom, salsa]; cleaning the house can wait!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surf, try to host. I'm in for the pure friendship experience. [Read: no benefits. Sorry.] I get along great with people of different faiths, ages, genders, philosophies, skills, status. At least, I think I do. I only 'unfriend' people who are judgemental or harmful.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed domestically and several times in Europe. I've only hosted a few times because of schedule. I host when I can. :-) [Currently remodeling my house. Hope to host more when it's done.]

Interests

The days are too short and my wallet to shallow to do all I enjoy. Top hobbies are dancing and off the beaten track traveling. In both instances I feel most alive! You?

Music, Movies, and Books

Not into faves, sorry.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I trained my cat to do tricks by voice command [high five, low five, get up and walk away - really helpful when reading the cat-sat-upon newspaper!] Spike, the Wonder Kitty! Sadly, she passed away in July 2014.

Teach, Learn, Share

Don't let fear stop you from trying something that intrigues you. My first solo trip was to Mongolia. It almost didn't happen. Four friends, one by one, dropped out leaving me the only one with time to go. I was scared. I went anyway. It was a fabulous trip. I had a great time and one I could not have had, had I gone with others. I've been traveling the world solo ever since.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My knowledge of dance, my world travel experiences, particularly China, budget travel and solo travel.
