About Me

Heya, I'm Prue! I end up getting a bit of travelling done here and there but love (a) pinching pennies and (b) meeting exciting new friends. I am geophysicist by training and like to active in green campaigning. Although my profile says I am from PA, USA, I'm actually a Brit (I just can't get the address pop-up to ever align right) - I did study abroad at Penn State for a year though!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I end up getting a bit of travelling done here and there but love (a) pinching pennies and (b) meeting exciting new friends. Getting to know you and your home, your interests and your recommendations is always very special to me. Hopefully I'll be able to offer out my home soon too!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite music varies wildly - from cheesy 90s pop, to riot grrrl punk, to the gentle indie rock making waves in the DIY music scene, to "IDM". I'm happy listening to most music but especially love going out to live shows where you can dance your butt off.

My favourite movie is The Fifth Element - I love it's colours, it's futurisitc city scapes, and LeeLou as a badass female role model even from my childhood. It's not as fancy as some of the other stuff in IMDb top 250 but it's fun, thrilling and beautiful in good measure.

My book tastes still link back to growing up on Harry Potter and Terry Pratchett. Fantasy and sci-fi are always really fun for me and I struggle to get through a hefty non-fiction book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scored a PhD researching climate change - it's not quite a mountain adventure or helping the needy, but it was a really tough challenge for me. I love engaging in conversation with people about Mother Earth and all she has to offer, alongwith all the lovely creatures and humans that live here.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach a bit of British cooking, share conversations in broken Spanish, maybe take you out to a few local DIY punk/rock/folk shows if that's your scene. I'm also happy to share a drag queen make over/wild make up challenge if you'll let me (or share my skin tone!) but I know that's really not to everyone's tastes! :D

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer you cooking, some real British classics like Toad in the Hole! And happy to help with chores for your hosting as always! If you want to know more about climate and earth sciences, my brain is full of facts. I also would happily share a table top game with you and convo in very bad Spanish. I've got plenty of friends whose first language isn't English, so if you need to learn from me I am happy to share my words with you.
