Overview
About Me
I was born in Guangzhou China and I moved to Canada when I was young. Raised in two countries so I guess I am a bit of both. I wouldn't say I'm a super outgoing person as I'm a bit shy at times but I do enjoy traveling, meeting new people, and experiencing new things.
I love fuzzy creatures, trees, ocean, and sunshine🌞
※fuzzy creatures - I have two cats at home, their names are foodie and tuffy
※trees - my favourite trees are Douglas fir and tulip tree
※ocean - I travelled to Koh Phi Phi this summer and the ocean blue there was absolutely stunning
※sunshine - I'm in love with everything coated with the golden colour of sunshine
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My best friend started couchsurfing in 2016 and we've both hosted a few people from all over the world. It's been a great experience hosting and meeting new people from different places.
Interests
I'm a big fan of food and I'm on my way to be a seasoned foodie (hopefully will get there one day). I cook everyday and I love recreating all the tasty food that I've tried all over the world :D
Cuisines that I particularly enjoy are southeast Asian, northern Chinese, and Mexican. I like food with lots of spices and I can't live without scallions, ginger, and garlic.
I also enjoy harvesting my own food! In the summer, I would go catch my own crabs and dig my own clams by the ocean. When fall comes, I enjoy picking some blackberries. And in the rainy season I would hike in the mountain to pick delicious wild mushrooms (not the psychedelic kind haha).

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - female vocal jazz, something soothing and relaxing; some of my favourite singers are Sophie Zelmani, Katie Melua, Norah Jones, Stacey Kent, Eva Cassidy
Movie - movies with intriguing plot!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Hiked down a super steep mountain in complete darkness with a head lamp
- Followed "markers" on a trail and made it to the top and realized that those were not real markers (also did a bunch of rock climbing along the way)
- Drove for 17 hours straight without stopping on mountain highway
- Hiked up Mt. Huashan overnight and waited for the sunset
Teach, Learn, Share
Learn
- learning Japanese at the moment! 日本語勉強中
Teach and share
- secret fusion recipes (very random combo but would taste good)
