About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn Spanish, learn to play the guitar and buy a hammock, not necessarily in that order...

ABOUT ME

Where to begin.......my name is Andy and I'm from the UK. I worked in mental health back home and plan to follow it as my career. I'm a pretty laid back guy who is looking to get the most out of life. I LOVE to travel and meet new people from around the world. Bring on couch surfing!

PHILOSOPHY

No regrets.

Never be afraid to try new things.

What goes around comes around.

Anybody has the ability to make their life better, they just need to be prepared to step out of their comfort zone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

***back in England now, needs updating***

At the moment, I am on a big travel adventure round Asia and Australasia and plan to not go back to England for at least a year. I'm keen to start surfing as soon as possible and am planning to get hosting as soon as I get back to the UK to keep the travelling going at home and meet interesting and great people from around the world!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As of yet, I don't really have any couch surfing experience. I really want to start surfing as soon as possible as I see it as a brilliant way to meet new people and get to see all the best things a place has to offer; in the opinion of people who live there rather than just what the Lonely Planet says!

Interests

These have grown a lot since I started travelling, but let's give this a shot:

TRAVELLING!
Meeting new people
Learning languages
Kayaking
Free diving
Partying
Technology
Food
Cinema
Music

and I'm always up for trying things I have never done before.

  • working out

Music, Movies, and Books

This changes far too often for me to pin anything down for long, though at the moment I'm getting into Indian and French cinema, and can't stop listening to the Killers new album :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my favourite (and most recent) highlights of travelling was free-diving on Gili Trawangan in Indonesia with some friends. We were only 10 metres from the beach, where we spotted a giant turtle swimming down at the surface. We dived down and followed it down the beach for about 10 minutes. Unforgettable!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a psychology degree and work in mental health, so I can tell you lots of interesting things about that (only if you want to hear it, don't worry haha). I'm also a big technology enthusiast so if anyone wants to know how to take better pictures, or work out problems with their phones, computers, I can help!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cambodia, China, Cyprus, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Laos, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Scotland, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, Vatican City State, Viet Nam, Wales
