About Me
ABOUT ME
My identity: Anthropology Student and writer, Feminist activist(and you have no idea what it means in Poland - very exciting indeed ;))). I'm a girlfriend, a sister, a friend. Dancing makes me feel I'm alive (and good at something beautiful ;) ), in contact with my body. I like reggae, dancehall and I danced flamenco for like three years. But as well as world music I like electro and various bands like the Knife and Cocorosie... I love travelling. Meeting new people and seeing we can have something in common. Being in very different worlds at the same time... Doing anthropology interviews made a bit more outgoing I guess ;) I love festivals (like Andancas) and being on the road. As well as coming back home to good books and my computer! :D
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I was a guest a few times and I can be a host. When I travel it's usually for a festival, with my sister or friend. So I'm likely to pop in for a day or two, rest a bit, see the best of your city and move on... I'm counting on nice evenings with talking in the kitchen or in a cafe ;) I like sight seeing, parks and clubs. During the days I could go sight seeing by myself, it's ok if you're working. If you want to visit Warsaw for a few days, you're going to need someone who lives here to show you all the good hiddden places :D Cause Warsaw is not like Paris, you see. It's much more eastern, eclectic and complicated. It's charm is... more hidden and worth discovering, let's say ;))
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was a guest two times in Siena, Italy. Totally positive experiences!

Music, Movies, and Books
I LOVE Zadie Smith ("White Teeth", "On Beauty", "The Autograph Man"). She made me want to go to London, Iguess I started to have a mythologized image of this City. I'm reading Doris Lessing book now and I admire her shrewdness and courage. I think Elfriede Jelinek is amazing, but I get unbelievably dispirited afeter her book so I dose them. I just discovered Umińska-Keff, a Polish writer. I like Geoffrey Eugenides, he's incredibly graphic and imaginative. Among Polish riters I also like Dorota Masłowska, she's young and she brought a totally new way of using language, she uses every-day language and phrases as if she recorded them. She's also mean and sharp-witted.
Fun English-language books you may know... I do enjoy Terry Pratchett from time to time, just for his energy.
