ABOUT ME

All about me, eh? Where to begin...?

Generally speaking:

I work in film, so the only thing regular about my day is that at some point I'll wake up - other than that it's usually up in the air. I've just wrapped on a TV series that was shooting in Toronto, now I'm looking to travel a bit and write my first feature.

While Film/Theatre take up a lot of my attention, my interests lie beyond just being artsy. I prefer theatre/film to sports, however, I would say I do enjoy games that have a lot riding on them - playoffs and such. If anything; give me the highlights, car crashes, and fist fights.

Before getting into film I trained to become a pilot.
I was able to legally fly a plane before I could drive a car.

I really enjoy discovering new ideas, philosophies, points of view, and peoples personal passions (...alliteration much?). People watching is an active hobby and working hazard of being a writer. It's a habit I picked up while living abroad.

What else is there to know? I feel more at home abroad then I do at home... odd? Maybe. I guess to me a home is more than just a house, and I haven't found a place I call home - yet.

Interests

My interests are as scattered as my thoughts... a survey of the first three that come to mind are:
- The Shakespeare debate (personally I'm an Oxfordian when it comes to where I stand of the subject)
- Musical / Dramatic theory - though more dramatic than musical, recently I've been really interested in how historic musical structure has influenced modern music. Be warned, I have nerdy tendencies.
- Interpersonal group dynamics/politics

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in music is extremely eclectic. I have and listen to everything from Classical concertos/arias/symphonies to Radiohead, and Bob Dylan. You can never go wrong with jazz like Dave Brubeck and John Coltrane. I have an affinity for Great Big Sea and John Williams (don't judge everyone has a guilty pleasure).

I don't read nearly as much as I should, but I've recently picked up Thus Spoke Zarathustra, and am thoroughly enjoying it - although quite slowly.

Movie likes... don't get me started, unless you have time. My thoughts, feelings and opinions on movies can get quite lengthy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Taken my first solo flight in a high performance glider at sunset.

- Hearing how moved someone was after I had my world premiere of my film.

- Any day while traveling is an amazing day...
