About Me

I'm a pretty laid back guy—prone to getting lost in thought. Farmer, builder, maker, doer.

Calling western North Carolina and the Blue Ridge Mts home right now, finishing building the coziest cabin perched on a ridge at a collective land project and alternative school there. I’ll be heading to northern Minnesota (home, home) to start a new land project/arts residency with friends in the spring.

I'm a theatre and performance artist, engaging in projects as they come or as I feel compelled to produce them. My background is in performance, but my work has taken many forms over the last few years. I love talking about art and how it interacts with the world, so if this is your jam, we can definitely talk on that for as long as we can stand it!

PHILOSOPHY Be kind and live with intention. "Narrow minds devoid of imagination. Intolerance, theories cut off from reality, empty terminology, usurped ideals, inflexible systems. Those are the the things that really frighten me." - Murakami, Kafka on the Shore

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING Surfed many times, hosted many times.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE Been doing this for a long time now, on and off. I've had a number of different Couchsurfing interactions. Some short, some long, some where they just left me the key, and some in which I felt like I was part of their crew for my time there. Any and all provide for an interesting experience, but my preference is to spend enough time with someone to get past those initial, easy-to-have conversations.

Anything someone can teach me new things about

Music, Movies, and Books

Just a lot.

I'm kind of a critical theory nerd. I have a soft spot for maps and existentialism.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Biked 1,500 miles from Portland to Arizona.

Slept under the stars in the desert.

Zip-lined through the rainforest in Costa Rica.

Organic farmed in Canada for six weeks.

Camped on a tiny, remote island in Japan.

Got a personal tour from a world renowned cider maker in Hereford, England.

Lived in a van in New Zealand for 9 months.

Okay, that was more than one. Amazing is amazing.
