My fiancé Aurelia and myself are a couple that are living and working in Paris.
We have a lovely ginger cat named Octave.

We decided to have a break in our life to get to discover the world and we are finally doing what we were dreaming about for years: a world tour for 7 months.
We left our jobs, kissed our friends and family goodbye, entrusted Octave to Aurelia’s mum and happily get to our exciting adventure beginning of January 2018.
We plan to go through India, South East Asia (Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia), Sydney, New Zealand, French Polynesia, Easter Island, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Argentina and finally Brazil before coming back home.

Living the backpacker’s life : simple needs, basic comfort, deciding our route on a daily basis and get to see and experience as much as possible during this time.

Open-minded and eager to get to know people, we love talking and being surprised by learning from other. We ask a lot of question about everything, even slight details: we are curious of everything and interested by all what we don’t know or understand (luckily, there is so much to learn!)

Also, we make the most of this break in our life to think about our life standard and way of consumption, trying to improve ourselves and finding a good balance for meeting our needs without spoiling the environment as well as enjoying the time free of working daily routine to think of what we would like to do next, to challenge our entrepreneurship brain.

Aurelia:
I love chatting and discovering about everything.
I have a good sense of humour and I will definitely show you pictures of our cat if you would ask. Or even if you don’t. :-)
I’m interested in photography and my two passions are chocolate and traveling.
I should probably travel to Willy Wonka factory’s.

Pierre:
I like talking, and off-beat humour. I don’t take myself seriously and like jokes (except on my baldness...) ;-P
I play the guitar for 20 years and I’m not as good as I should be for this amount of time of practice but I enjoy it anyway.
The struggle of my life is the battle between trying to stay fit and my unconditional passion for food. The later often win...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As a host:
I used to host couchsurfers, showing them the city through my eyes, introducing them to my friend and doing my best to make them feeling at home. I always tried to make for my hosts what I would love to experience abroad : the local life, getting to know people that are living there and learning from them what it feels like to live there. And if on top of that we can hang out and party, that’s even better!
Unfortunately, I had to stop hosting people because of the tiny size of my flat in Paris and less time because of work. Sometimes, I join Paris community Couchsurfing gathering party.

As a couchsurfer:
What we expect from Couchsurfing at someone is to meet a local, to share experiences, stories and a good time together, to learn something.
To be inspired by each one story and use it as a brick to build a better understanding of our world.
To feel that beyond language and cultural barrier, we all belong to human species and sharing basic feeling such as a good laugh, a positive emotion or compassion.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first and most amazing CS experience was in Dublin,it was really great. Rory is one of the most generous and great guy that i know. I thank him for all he did for us during our stay. He made us feeling home and he kind of blessed our soul with the spirit of Couchsurfing.
After that, I started to host people in Marseille, I have been hosted in NYC, Memphis, Nashville, New Orleans.
I took part on CS gathering (Dublin, NY, Paris, Barcelona) and I have never been disappointed by people that I met.
