About Me

Hello! My name is Victoria and I'm originally from Argentina but I lived half of my life in England. I have also lived a year in France/Switzerland and three in Barcelona. Having lived in different places, I am very open minded and eager to learn about new cultures.

I work as a graphic designer here in London, and when I'm not working I like cycling, reading and swimming.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe that you really only get to know a place once you settle in and get to know the culture, that's why I love Couchsurfing because it lets me do just that. By sharing our cultures we get to pick out all the positive bits about each one and enrich our lifestyle.

Interests

You'll rarely find me with less that two cameras in my bag, I like photographing ordinary things that although most of the times we don't notice them, life would be completely different without them. I'm eager to get into underwater photography soon too!

Music, Movies, and Books

Well, for music pretty much anything and everything from the 60s and 50s. Favourite band will always be The Beatles. I also love jazz and bossa nova - Chet Baker, Diana Krall and Stan Getz are amongst my favourites. And from more modern times, music like Bonobo, James Blake and Evenings.

Movie-wise, Requiem for a dream is one of my faves. Also, Richard Linklater's films. The Star Wars saga. Monsters Inc, 101 Dalmatians and most Pixar/Disney films.

And books, I read a bit about everything. Currently I'm reading my first book in Catalan — T'hauria de caure la cara de vergonya by Sergi Palmes. My favourite writers so far are Borges and Allende.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the favourite things is packing everything and jetting off to live in a new country, with all the expectations, fears and adrenaline that comes with it. And talking about adrenaline, jumping out of plane is also one of the best things I've done. And can't wait to do it again.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My friends tell me I bake and cook very well so I'll be more than glad to make you a meal or some homemade bread/cakes :D
