About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Pura vida!

ABOUT ME

I am tall. And green. I had no idea CouchSurfing was such a popularity contest. Guess I better get busy on my profile. I'm great. Trust me. To know me is to love me.

PHILOSOPHY

Por la madre tierra la lucha sigue. Hasta la victoria siempre! This makes a lot of sense in Spanish, but it doesn't really translate well to English. I guess it means something like: For Mother Earth the fight continues. Ever onward toward victory! Yeah, it sounds much better in Spanish.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's difficult to choose just one amazing thing I have seen or done in this lifetime, as I have lived a very full life traveling all over the world, however if I had to choose just one, off the top of my head I would choose watching a mama green turtle lay her eggs on a Caribbean beach in Panama, and then getting to set free a batch of brand new wiggly baby sea turtles into the ocean. It was a totally life-affirming experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

A lesson I relearned this morning is a very old motto that was reminded to me by Elizabeth Gilbert in her Ted Talk: http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/elizabeth_gilbert_on_genius.html. She said something like, "Whatever you do, do it well." I find that a very helpful mantra as I make triple nonfat decaf no foam lattes with six splendas.
