About Me

I have spent much of my life following adventure and ending up where ever my heart leads me. I hold a deep appreciation for the natural world and the Arts in its many forms. I've trained and worked in both the performing arts and fine arts fields (photography, installation, performance art, music, dance) and currently work in the therapeutic arts. I love making new connections and getting to know the deepest parts of people through good conversation.

I studied Suzuki method music from a young age and currently perform as a vocal artist with my brother in a 3 piece ensemble called 'Cave In The Sky' http://www.caveinthesky.com/

I've been engaged in the field of therapeutic arts for much of my life and now run my own private practice on the property where I live in the beautiful Byron hinterland forest. My work integrates body centred therapies and psychotherapeutic tools within a Soul based animist framework www.purdiewood.com

I've lived in various spanish speaking countries over the years and have made efforts to study and learn, I can't claim to be fluent but I can communicate and hold up a reasonable conversation!

I currently live in a beautiful old vintage 1950's renovated bus on a property shared with three generations of family in the hills of Mullumbimby. I'm in the middle of building myself a small studio to live and work in, this has been a great learning curve for me designing the place myself and assisting the builder with the construction! Unfortunately there is not much space in my bus so until my studio is finished I don't have room to host.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing sounds like a great way to enjoy a new country and to share experiences, ideas and interests with local people.
I am currently planning a voyage to the lands of my ancestors primarily in Scotland and Ireland but I will also be visiting Iceland (distant genetic ties there) and would love to couch surf when I'm not out free camping in the wilder places.
