Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Ride bikes, have fun!
ABOUT ME
I'm short & I love fancy cocktails made with bourbon or rye whiskey--siting on a porch and watching storms roll in over the mountains makes that imbibing even better. I believe you can always find good people if you find the people who love bikes and beer, cats and vegetables, tromping through the woods and staring at clouds. Oh, and that master's degree in poetry? I did it for the money. :)
PHILOSOPHY
Life rocks!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love to travel and I love to hang out with people who travel--stories and adventures are what keeps life fresh. I've surfed around the U.S. and a bit in Canada, but, if nothing else, I love hosting people traveling through the mountains to their way to or from somewhere awesome.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted more than I've surfed, but summer 2010 I surfed up to Nova Scotia from Virginia and met some amazing and fun-loving people.

Music, Movies, and Books
Some directors I dig: Werner Herzog, Jean-Pierre Jeunet,Jan Svankmajer, Darren Aronofsky.
A few authors: Samuel Beckett, Ted Hughes, Roger Deakin, Seamus Heaney, Craig Thompson.
As for music: Yann Tiersen, Grandaddy, Pavement, Mountain Goats, The Everybodyfields, Iron & Wine, Fleet Foxes, Neutral Milk Hotel, Sebadoh, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spent a week on the Amazon River in Peru. I didn't really do anything, I just hiked around the region, ate a lot of lentils and rice, and stared at birds all day. It was priceless.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to make a vegan crepe cake or roast an eggplant, how to battle city traffic on a bike or identify a Carolina Cherry Tree by it's bark. But really I'd love to learn more about your passions! And to knit--I'm dying to know how to knit.
