About Me

CURRENT MISSION

express yourself like a box of crayons

ABOUT ME

I am a whole lot of quirky!
I love storytelling
I own a LOT of wigs - Halloween is my favorite holiday
I sing very loud in my car
I like to look at things upside down (I once won a handstand competition after 45 min - my arms hurt)
I like to go on secret missions (Operation St. Nick - see photo)
I get disappointed when I don't string a string cheese
I am part German and part American Indian, and I think its funny when people try to guess my ethnicity
I am better at stemming than I am at actual climbing
I like to surprise people with little gifts of appreciation, or send co-workers/friends things that encourage them to bring out their inner child
I like to skip
I always appreciate good company
I am very honest - never ask me something that you don't want a real answer/opinion to
the list can go on....

PHILOSOPHY

rather disgusting, but a funny way that i cheered up a friend (and very appropriate for SF) - life is like stepping in a heap of shit. Most of the time you can avoid it, but if you are too careless and your thoughts become too preoccupied you might just end up stepping in one big dirty mess. You can try to find a plot of grass, but you live in the city so you end up walking around on your heel frantically looking for a stick to get it out of the creases. Only until time has warn does that remnants begin to leave your shoe. Now you are wiser and you begin to pay attention to your surroundings, walk with caution, and keep a friend around to warn you of any hidden dangers. Just remember, shit can come from anywhere, from the sky, from the side (monkeys), but once you have stepped in it the first time, you will know how to deal with it from there on out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am brand new to the CS experience and want to give it some time, get to know the ropes around CS, and hopefully start to host others :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't had any yet :( But soon I hope :)

Interests

I haven't come across anything I didn't like. I see a lot of beauty in all things and therefore can appreciate them for what they are - this is probably because I learn a lot from various interests/hobbies and then apply them to my own wacky art.

Currently, I am doing some mixed media projects (my main art is photography)and trying to push the limits in the darkroom and on the computer.

Love for the outdoors - The outdoors have been my backyard every since I was a child. There is something so rejuvenating about escaping the city lights and venture out into the darkness.

Theater – I have seen shows all over the world and am still amazed with how different the styles are (and how funny they can be in other languages when you don’t fully understand)

Me + food = the perfect match (I am a big foodie and know a lot of great restaurants in SF)

The list can go on….kind of ADHD when it comes to interests

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - I am stuck in two worlds. 1 world involves all the old black and white movies (Adams Rib, Casablanca, All About Eve, etc.), and the 2nd world of all animation movies (A bugs life, Howles Moving Castle, Shaun the Sheep, Futurama)

Music - the only thing I don't like is country, but I like everything else

Books - I read mostly non-fiction, but the few times I don't, I have enjoyed 1984, The Life of Pi, and The Picture of Dorian Gray (favorite thus far)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I know this sounds lame, but every day that you embrace life and this world for what it has to offer, you are experiencing something amazing. There are always little adventures and little "cheer-me-ups" out there that put a smile on my face, regardless of what country I am in of who I am with.

Today's amazing thing (5/23): Turquoise duct tape given to me by one of the facilities management people just because I appreciated the colorful tape that he was using.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Chile, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy

Countries I’ve Lived In
