About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Unraveling the Puerto Rican history of sexuality of the 1930s
ABOUT ME
I am a pretty quiet and shy person who prefers intimate conversations over large crowds, completely devoted to my work. When I take time off, however, I take time off!
I love to travel near and far to random places and meet random people, especially of the smiling kind. Although I'm at home in big urban spaces that make my heart throb, I'm also in love with nature. Love the beach, the desert, the jungle as much as the blasting overload of the biggest metropolis. Above all, I like to feel complete abandon with my senses fully awake and lose myself in awe of the new.
PHILOSOPHY
"The main interest in life and work is to become someone else that you were not in the beginning." Michel Foucault

Music, Movies, and Books
I absolutely LOVE all kinds of movies, music, and books. In particular...
Independent and art-house films and documentaries.
Blues and independent music.
Books about history, gender and sexuality, short stories, essays, novels, queer theory, political theory, poetry, and spirituality.
And I have an obsession with researching primary sources.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spent two months living with Mayas in Comunidades de Población en Resistencia of the Sierra in northwestern Guatemala. Without electricity, mirrors, running water, beds. With lots of sharing, hospitality, love, stories, and community. Climbing the amazing mountains of the sierra, crossing its forceful rivers, and getting stuck walking on its very deep mud.
Met Delegado Cero (Subcomandante Marcos) in northern Mexico. His spoken words are poetry.
