ABOUT ME

How in the world can the infinite weirdness of the human spirit be summarized in a single paragraph? But that's a cop-out answer of course, so I will just say that my attempt to be a renaissance man in an information age is futile, but fun!

PHILOSOPHY

Life should be lived as an artform. I guess it should also be said that I have a strong sense of the spiritual, but in the same way that a fish has a strong sense of the water.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had many couch economy exchanges with friends over the years, in both directions, so this is the first time I'm expanding that to people outside my immediate sphere. I look forward to Adventures!

Interests

Pretty much everything. Looking around my immediate area at the books here, I see represented fractal music, Renee Magritte, early American typography and advertising design, cryptography, archetypes of trans-cultural myths, flash programming, kabalistic interpretation of the tarot, and swordsmanship. I also see that I really need to clean my room.

Music, Movies, and Books

Well, see above under interests. I have read Gravity's Rainbow and enjoyed it more than once, which automatically makes me the most pretentious person in any given room. Musically, I love every genre but am primarily interested in experimental and weird electronic. Right now I'm all about the Breakcore and Powernoise. Essentially the more unlistenable the better, with backlashes into Leonard Cohen, Miles Davis, and Billie Holiday territory.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So many, but picking the first one that comes to mind: Buying the ticket anyway to support them, and then socially engineering our way in to working security for a Survival Research Labs show.

Teach, Learn, Share

I fence (non-olympic, as an actual combat art). I do video and audio production. I create software to produce realtime visuals reactive to sound. And I cook a mean garlic spinach cream sauce. I will happily share any knowledge I have up to the point that you drop off from boredom.
