About Me

First of all, I am Sagittarius and I do believe that my love to travel is due to my zodiac sign. Almost nothing can dampen my spirit. I learn so much while on my travels. I will now try to explain how I enjoy to travel.

I am a mixture between a traveler and a tourist. I really like all sort of places and I can get dirty, wet, muddy, and cold if that’s the way to reach a place. Basically I pay attention to everything that is surrounding me from the pave of the streets to the abandoned buildings and factories to the nature, science and art museums. I like to do my own research and select the places and activities to do even if that cost me precious time. I often do a list(mark spots on the map) what I like to visit as I do not have enough time to see everything but at the same time I always leave some spare time to wander around. Sometimes I do spontaneous decisions and other times I am asking for a local advice or read recommendations.

I use and enjoy all type of transport! In my everyday life when in my home city I prefer to walk or take the metro or a public bus instead of using my own car - to reduce the carbon emissions, to try to keep the air which I and all the other people breath and to save that non-renewable fuel for a road trip. I like driving but I am trying to minimize the use of my car when I have an alternative. I am proud that I have never drove outside of my city being alone in the car.
I get a lot of joy travelling by train. The sensation of the old time travel and landscape views is mixed with the ease of quick boarding and arrival right in the centre of the cities. I am even collecting books for trains and railway systems.

I used to hitchhike before, when I had more spare time. Now this will happen in probably let’s say emergency situations. All my hitchhike experience was funny and positive though. Which is great.

I adore riding a bike. I like the momentum of the road bikes and that's my favourite kind of bikes. I usually hike in the mountains. I like the look of the classic/vintage road bikes, with the chromoly (Chrome Molybdenum) steel frames. Not really a fan of the new thick aluminum/carbon frames, even if they may perform better.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet people from who I can learn and teach things to. I love listening to people’s stories and the most real ones are those narrated in first person.

Interests

I love many things, but get frustrated that there's not enough time in the day to do it all. Too bad we humans need sleep. I will try to keep it short.

I like arts, most sciences (in particular: geography, ecology, chemistry, psychology); music production, acoustics and field recording; design, psychedelics, marketing, business ethics, business planning, graffiti, spirituality, internet and technologies, body languages, maps and guidebooks.

When I cook, I like to prepare the food with love and passion. In other words I like gourmet. I drink wines and beers; sometimes liqueurs and cocktails. I am not really a fan of strong alcoholic beverages like vodka or whiskey.

I'm obsessed with photography. I like both film and digital photography. I started with now obsolete film camera (Praktica) but now I am into the world of digital photography.

As activities I like Camping, Caving, Trekking and Hiking; Swimming; Cycling; Table tennis

I used to collect coins when I was younger. I am still keeping my collection and I separate the shiniest coins when travelling abroad, just to fill in the collection. But I am not looking for fresh coins and I do not exchange coins with others like before.
