Overview
About Me
I'm currently a Communications major. I took some time off from University, but am back in the swing of things.
I am studying in Thailand from January-April 2017. I have plans to travel SE Asia and possibly Europe in the weeks following.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love the idea of travelers helping other travelers. I'm not above falling into the occasional tourist trap, but conversing (or at least attempting to) with locals is always a sought after experience for me. I'm often on the road solo and I appreciate and enjoy when people take time to talk to me about their current home.
Interests
Traveling, and researching/planning on how to do so, is always at the forefront of my mind. I've been getting out to see new places my whole life, and I don't plan on ever stopping.
I also like to cook (vegetarian), listen to records, run, watch college basketball and Royals baseball, read, and spend time with my pup. And I come from a family of gamers, so cards are always with me on the road.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music is always changing for me, but a few of my staples are Bruce Springsteen, Gogol Bordello, Frank Turner, The Stones, Stooges, Sam Cooke, The Clash, Big Star, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, Zeppelin, Velvet Underground, New York Dolls, White Stripes, Tom Waits, Against Me!, Billie Holiday, The Cure, Ramones, David Bowie, Wilco... I also love Zydeco music and your recommendations. I've worked in a record store for over three years and I'm still not tired of talking about music :-)
I'm not much of a non-fiction reader. I love Colum McCann and Ray Bradbury, but I mostly stick to a random assortment of research-based works and biographies. So I'm a huge documentary fan, but I'll try a new film when I have the time. My favorite movie is Big Fish and I'm still trying to figure out why.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've camped at the rim of the Grand Canyon on a few occasions. It's absolutely breathtaking every time.
BUT I also kept a 25 cent goldfish alive for nine years... RIP Big Red
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm willing to share (almost) everything I bring with me on the road (although that isn't much). Learning about other cultures, cities, regions and people is my ideal way to spend time. I love hearing other peoples' stories.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd be happy to clean up the host's space a bit or bake/cook (I used to work in a bakery and still work on my own) in exchange for a couple nights on a floor/couch/bed. But most of all what I would love to share are stories and good company (and maybe a drink or two).
