About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Having just got married and moved home, we are not in a position to currently host people. When that changes, I'll let you know.

When travelling, I take panoramic photography of amazing places

ABOUT ME

I grew up playing in the sea and sands of Bournemouth, a sea side town in south England. Then came to London to study and have stayed here since.

I started out working with human viruses before moving to travel photography, taking 360 panoramas from around the world, many of which I put on Panoramic Earth (www.panoramicearth.com) that I run.

I am a qualified counsellor working in London

PHILOSOPHY

Your life is the most amazing gift you have. Live it, love it, care for it, but the best is yet to come.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently I am not able to hose, though have done in the past. My participation at the moment is definitely on the surfing side, it is difficult to host where I am at the moment. I may be able to meet up for a drink if you are in south London.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is not strictly a CS experience, but years ago, before internet was so prevalent, I was travelling in Morocco with 3 others. We arrived by train in a small town called Ben Guerir (about half way between Casablanca and Marrakech) at lunchtime. A young man whom we did not know came and talked to us and then invited us back to his home for lunch. In the end his family also put all 4 of us up for the night, feeding us a fantastic traditional meal. An amazing spontaneous stay.

Amazing CS experiences now include a farm in Australia with 'roos on the lawn at breakfast, and a self sufficient family in New Zealand who had even built their own hydro dam for electricity, stying in a gypsy caravan and on a home-made sailing yacht.

Interests

Photography, skiing, walking, classical music, ceroc dancing, ballroom dancing, 'what is your world view?', meeting new people, natural world (anything to do with wildlife, nature, etc I find fascinating).

Music, Movies, and Books

LoTR, most Sci Fi, thought provoking movies or books, prefer classical music to hip hop.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lying on a mountainside at night in Morocco, seeing the skies and going 'wow' inside.

Managing to photograph a panorama of glow worms inside a cave in NZ.

Teach, Learn, Share

It is kind of hard to know what to put here. I can share a little about London, or at least make a pointer. I can share a little about photography, especially the panoramic kind which I have done a fair amount of. Would also be happy to answer questions on spirituality, but remember it is my point of view! Happy to discuss world issues, and most other things.
