About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Shooting timelapses around the US and the world. Visit new places and experience new cultures
ABOUT ME
I grew up in Santa Monica, California (wedged between the Pacific Ocean and Los Angeles), and work as a freelance photographer. Recently, I wrapped up about a year of nearly nonstop worldwide travel, and rented a loft in Downtown Los Angeles as a chill place to work from home. I still travel often for work. I'm a very laid-back person and tend to "go with the flow" as a way of life. Call it adventurous, or call it the inability to make decisions, but my way of exploring is to get off the subway at a random stop and wander around, or go into a restaurant and tell the waiter to surprise me instead of ordering. I don't like staying on the beaten path, and I don't like doing touristy stuff.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had a Couchsurfing account for several years now, but haven't used the service to find a place to stay yet. I've "couch surfed" with friends and friends-of-friends for several years (many of whom are also couchsurfing.org members), so I'm well-trained as a polite guest.
Interests
More than anything else, I like a good, enlightening conversation. I like witnessing culture shock, although I like experiencing it almost (but not nearly) as much. I have a deep knowledge of American (and some international) films, although I haven't been seeing as many movies recently as I'd like to. I'm more of a computer geek than most, but far less than some. I appreciate a good beer, a well-made cocktail, and a masterfully-brewed cup of coffee. Socially, I can be found at art galleries, small music venues and coffee houses, but don't let that make me sound like a snob... I appreciate a good underground party, backyard barbecue, or illegal bonfire even more so. I'm a bit of an environmentalist, I don't drive unless there is absolutely no other option, and I'm passionate about bicycling and alternative transportation.
